Telephone: (859) 431-8500

Question 1

How do I rent a car from BMC?

Accepted Answer

We don't take confirmed reservations online. You submit a quick quote request — through our website, by calling (859) 431-8500, or by visiting any of our locations — and an agent will call or email you back with a price and to arrange payment over the phone. Your rental is confirmed at that point, not when you submit the online form. We recommend reaching out in advance, especially during peak seasons, since availability isn't guaranteed until an agent confirms it with you.

Question 2

Can I change or cancel my rental after I've submitted a request?

Accepted Answer

Yes — just call the location handling your request as soon as possible. Because nothing is locked in until an agent confirms your rental over the phone, changes before that point are easy. After your rental is confirmed and a vehicle is reserved for you, cancellations made at least 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time are free of charge. Late cancellations may incur a fee equivalent to one day's rental.

Question 3

Is there a minimum rental period?

Accepted Answer

Our standard minimum rental period is 24 hours. We also offer hourly rentals at select locations for certain vehicle types — please mention this when you call or in the notes on your quote request, and an agent will let you know what's available.

Question 4

What are the age requirements to rent a car?

Accepted Answer

The minimum age to rent a car is 21 years old. Drivers under 25 may be subject to a young driver surcharge. For luxury and specialty vehicles, the minimum age requirement is 25 years.

Question 5

What documents do I need to rent a car?

Accepted Answer

You will need a valid driver's license, a major credit card in the renter's name, and proof of insurance.

Question 6

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Debit cards are accepted for payment but not for the security deposit. We do not accept cash for the initial rental, but it may be accepted for final payment upon return.

Question 7

Is a security deposit required?

Accepted Answer

Yes, a security deposit is required when you pick up the vehicle. The amount varies depending on the vehicle type and rental duration. The deposit is refunded when you return the vehicle in the same condition, minus any applicable charges.

Question 8

Do I need insurance to rent a car?

Accepted Answer

Yes, all rentals require insurance coverage. If you have personal auto insurance that covers rental vehicles, you may use that. Otherwise, we offer additional insurance options, please contact us to learn more.

Question 9

What happens if I return the car late?

Accepted Answer

Late returns may incur additional charges. We provide a 119-minute grace period, after which you will be charged for an additional day. If you anticipate being late, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss options.

Question 10

Do I need to refill the gas tank before returning the car?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you should return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel as when you received it, typically a full tank. If you return the car with less fuel, you will be charged for the missing fuel plus a service fee. We also offer a prepaid fuel option for your convenience.

Question 11

Can I pick up the car at one location and return it to another?

Accepted Answer

Yes, one-way rentals are available between our locations. Please specify your return location when requesting your quote, and an agent will confirm whether one-way is available for your dates.
